Step 1: You will need either Google Chrome or Firefox web browsers(I SAY USE FIREFOX WAY EASIER)

(http://www.firefox.com) with the “Firebug” add-on. You can get the firebugadd-on at http://www.getfirebug.com. Download this and install this for Firefox.
When browsing the web in Firefox with the Firebug add-on, when you right click a
link, you will now have the option to “Inspect Element.” This will come in handy a
few steps down.

Step 2: Go to your Top Mafia section and click the “promote” button next to the
account you want to promote to Wheelman (even if it is Maniac).

Step 3: Right click the link for promoting this character to Mastermind and now
click the new option, “Inspect Element”.

Step 4: An HTML code box will pop-up – but do not panic, this is actually quite
easy to fix. This is the firebug add-on. Right above where your cursor now is you
will see two links that look like this:

What you will do is go into the text box and make change the “mastermind” word
to “wheelman”.
If you did it right, the link your Firebug will end up looking something like this (but
not exactly):

Step 5: Now, after you make this update, press the “enter” key. Back on the
Mafia Wars screen, the “Mastermind” button should flash. All that you have to do
now is click the “Promote to Mastermind” button. Since you changed the link to
say wheelman, your Maniac account will now end up in the Top Mafia
Wheelman slot!

No it changes the link so when u hit mastermind it actually promtes them to wheelman not mastermnd
